Within our hearts, each of us has dreams, like seeds waiting to sprout and grow into beautiful flowers. We are anxious for all these dreams to come about; we long for something we can't have at this moment. In order to nurture your soul, you need to realize this and accept the fact that all things come in time. You must learn to be patient and yet to persist....John Gray.

I know....believe me I know....it's very sad when a site with sooo much love "stuff" can't come up with SOMETHING neat and wonderful for the month of February :-( It is just, well, I don't know actually :-)  I have tried. However, as I have searched for poems and quotes I have found nothing NEW....well, nothing I  could just borrow :-)  There are many very beautiful love stories posted. But much of what I found was so sad.  It seems that undying love runs rampant on the web; however, it is so often unrequited :-(  As I searched and searched in the past few weeks I found myself reading real live Romeo and Juliet stories and reaching for a tissue.  I mean have you read the story of St Valentine???  He loved PEOPLE....he was in love with God and he desired for others to love God.  He was on a crusade teaching others about love and God when he was arrested and beheaded for his teachings.  So I  just keep falling back on what I already have posted. I know February is the month of love....hearts are everywhere, and love is in the air so to speak. Hence, the song you hear playing "The Air That I Breathe" by the Hollies. It says "All I need is the air that I breathe and to love you"....what could possibly be more beautiful??? Simple words "to love you"  and yet so very beautiful.  As Buscaglia said...."Love is always bestowed as a gift -- freely, willingly, and without expectation....We don't love to be loved; we love to love."  I am way too sentimental, but that makes me feel wonderful to think one day someone will feel that way about me :-) And then the quotes keep reminding me when to expect love to find me....when I  feel that way FIRST!!! The quotes are definitely like a friend!!!  They remind me it is up to me....the feeling of love is created by me as Richard Carlson says....."If you create the space and the desire to have love in your heart as your top priority, you'll start to see that you have the capacity to make loving decisions, and to have loving reactions, and to become non-defensive, and to become a better listener...And pretty soon a little annoyance will come your way or someone will do something wrong...and you'll just find yourself forgiving them. You'll find yourself not wanting to be thrown off-center simply to follow some negative train of thought that's going to bring you somewhere you don't want to go. You'll find yourself able to stay in that feeling of love -- and when you do, almost everything else magically takes care of itself...Love is the most important answer in life."  Seems simple enough :-) So as the quotes say....love starts with me....love must be in my heart...not just in February....but every day. So, this month, as my Valentine to you....I have decided to post quotes each day  that have come to mean sooo much to me in the past few years....and to accompany them with songs that have beautiful lyrics about love, along with some of my favorite pics....almost all old stuff....but very special to me :-) Hopefully some of these things you will find inspiring. You might be familiar with the quote "Once in an age God sends to some of us a friend, who loves not a false imagining, an unreal character in us; but looking through all the rubbish of our imperfections, loves in us the divine ideal of our natures--not the man that we are, but the angel that we may be"....Stowe. Well, in the past few months I have met a friend like this....Philip Larson.  Philip has shared openly with me thus allowing me to see myself in his life.  I tend to hang back....and wait, and what I have seen is that romantic love is very, very beautiful....more beautiful than "our wildest imaginings" but I will only truly experience that love when I am willing to make myself vulnerable and reach out.  I have seen that "love is blind"....it loves without respect of time or place or way.  Love thinks of the other person as this quote by Buscaglia states...."The perfect love would be one that gives all and demands nothing. It would, of course, be willing and delighted to take anything it was offered; the more the better. But it would ask for nothing." This is Philip....perfect love personified. I would like to share this thought he sent me...."My Lady, you are the sanity in which I see, for you are the breeze that ignites my desire to crusade for thy consent to combine our essences eternally. With out your whisper of confession that one day we will exist as one, I may not have sufficient sustenance to function. Breathless and Speechless, is my intention for you the remainder of your existence. Deliver that which is hidden from me, and the rewards will be unfathomable. Postponement is futile, for I have the resignation to endure for eternity." Can you even imagine such a wonderful thought???  To exist as one....remaining speechless and breathless forever???  Philip writes in such a way that the object of his love feels ever so cherished....Philip's words give truth to all the quotes....he desires nothing more than to love. Fortunately for him, "Love is the reward of love." :-)  Philip is a soldier....which reinforces my feelings about military guys....they love unconditionally :-) The quotes say a friend is someone who knows the song in our heart and can sing it back to us when we have forgotten the words. Well, just as the quotes are my friend....Philip is my friend, he knows the song in my heart....and everyone else's....we desire to be loved.  And his words so subtly say I must love first to receive the love which comes my way.  And so I am sharing this with all of you....because just as Philip tells me love will come....I am reminding all of you....love will come :-) Enjoy the wait...."Anticipation is half the fun :-)" To all of you who are already "crazy in love"....I am soo jealous :-) But happy for you....congratulations....this month and forever!!! To everyone....thanks for visiting.  And thank you for all your encouraging guest book entries and emails. Also,  thanks to all of you who have shared a part of yourself with me...."The greatest gift is the gift of one's self."  :-) Below are a few of my favorite stories which again are not new but have a very special meaning to me. I hope you will find time to read or reread them.  Thanks again to all of you who visit regularly.  You are my Valentine. In closing, I would like to share these word's penned to me by one of my most special Valentines, Bryan Roberts...."Right now I am holding you in my heart, so while it is not the physical touch, I am holding you in that place that I hold only you."  Happy February and especially Happy February 14th!!!

Perfect Love....an awesome thought, I continue to hold to....

The Awakening...for me this happened when I left life on-line in the summer of '99....the song you will hear on this page is "Over the Rainbow Techno"....inspired by my soldier friend Chris Tompkins, soon to be Sergeant Christopher D. Tompkins  :-) Chris is a paratrooper in the US Army and he LOVES techno dancing!!! But for his encouragement, my site would not exist today. I love you Chris :-)

"Things You Didn't Do"....so sad, and so often true.  I for one definitely do not say what I mean when I should....so often never....even when I can.

I've Learned....I am positive I have not actually learned all of these wonderful things...YET, but hopefully I am beginning to look outside myself more each day :-)

A Start....Anyone who knows anything about me, knows I LOVE Leo Buscaglia.  He had a desire to teach the world to love....and his words are sooo inspiring.

Welcome Home Soldier....this story and all the Veteran's stories I read, some of which I have posted in November 2001, brought home the fact that I am free because others are sacrificing a part of their freedom each day....loving us unconditionally.  As I read stories of actual events which soldiers have posted, I realized that even though they are usually each serving by choice these days....the conditions under which they serve often leave much to be desired.  Even though our military personnel are serving in order to secure our freedom as a country, it doesn't mean they desire to leave our wonderful world for parts unknown and situations of potential danger. As beautiful as the outside world may be....they are WILLING to lay down their lives for me. I have come to have a great appreciation for all of you who leave home to serve America. Words  are definitely not enough and can never express my feelings.  But your words I have found posted on the net have definitely given me a spirit to be thankful for my personal freedom and to remember "freedom is not free." Whenever I start to whine these days, I remember the words of Pvt. Blanco and others....all of you have made a difference in my life.  And as February has approached, I have tried to remember that many "sweethearts" will be separated this Valentine's Day due to America's War on Terrorism....some forever....

Sooner or later we begin to understand that love is more than verses on valentines and romance in the movies. We begin to know that love is here and now, real and true, the most important thing in our lives. For love is the creator of our favorite memories and the foundation of our fondest dreams. Love is a promise that is always kept, a fortune that can never be spent, a seed that can flourish in even the most unlikely of places. And this radiance that never fades, this mysterious and magical joy, is the greatest treasure of all -- one known only by those who love....Unknown.
